Alternatively, you can listen via the MQA-ready Bluesound Node 2 streamer, which connects directly to Tidal Masters files (accessible via the Bluesound app), negating the need for a computer-hosted Tidal desktop app.

AirPlay 2 (via Future Firmware Update): The Vault 2i will support AirPlay 2 through a future firmware update later this year. With AirPlay 2, you'll be able to stream just about any sound (including music, books, podcasts and more) from your iPhone, iPad, or Mac to the Bluesound system - all in sync. The Node 2i can join a home network via Wi-Fi or Ethernet, and it can be controlled via Bluesound’s BluOS Controller app that’s available for iOS or Android. Bluesound Launches Desktop Controller App. Key Features of the Bluesound Desktop Controller App. Available for free download on either Mac or PC. Computer based HiFi; Bluesound Node 2 and WD My Passport external drive occasionally connected Sign in. Ease of use of the Node 2 (vs LMS) and BluOS app (vs the excellent iPeng) means I’m spending substantially more time streaming than I was previously. Which is just what I hoped for.

I don't think so. Spotify is only 320 kbps for the premium service and the radio stations vary in quality (usually less than CD quality). Not sure about Deezer and Rhapsody.

I have a Bluesound Vault 2, but also a Node (original N100) on two separate systems. I run both with Android tablets (or my phone or desktop PC), have about 550GB of music on my network and subscribe to Tidal Hi-Fi. It all works really well. Bluesound will soon have integration with Roon, as it's all signed off with the Bluesound team and in the hands of the Roon people to integrate it.
The ability of the BlueOS to create and save playlists that can be a combination of songs from Tidal Hi-Fi and my own library of music is great. I'm more inclined to listen to entire albums than to playlists of individual songs. Another thing I like is that I can pull saved playlists and use them from either device. I can have the play queue (whatever is currently playing) 'follow me' from one system to the other, or link them to play a single source on both systems at the same time.
My receiver is an NAD T758 and I just upgraded the video card (MDC module) to the 4K one. What this now does is allow me to get the BlueOS kit & license so I can move the Vault to where the Node is, run BlueOS direct from my receiver, gift the Node to a family member and have one less component on the entertainment center/rack. The fact that all devices are MQA compatible is nice, but true that there's little content out there and the future of it is uncertain. I notice a difference with the few MQA files I have, though I wouldn't consider it to be 'profoundly' better.
As to streaming rates, Tidal Hi-Fi seems to the only one for now. Spotify Premium is 320kbps and most people can't tell the difference between it and Tidal Hi-Fi's 1141kbps. Truthfully, I doubt I can but take comfort in knowing I have the best.

For owners of the Node II, what do you think of the Windows/tablet software interface? Is it easy to use?

Glad you asked. Though I didn't have a Node 2 at the time I tried it, I did have a Vault (now have Vault 2) and the software is the same.It doesn't work very well. The Windows app is NOT a touchscreen oriented app and works awful without a pointing device (mouse.) It was a complete waste of time so I returned the Windows tablet and exchanged it for an Android tablet. It's great now.

That's good to know. I often like to use my laptop and a mouse, but do have an iPad and Android tablet. Hopefully they'll update the Windows app. AVS Forum Special Member

It's not on Tidal desktop only. That is for Tidal apps. Works great on Bluesound Node 2 I have. The challenge is to find MQA albums, as it cannot be done from BlueOS. You have to go to Tidal desktop app, search for 'Masters' group under 'what's new', favorite them, and then open on BlueOS under favorites on Tidal.
Try it. Awesome!

Exactly what I do. For now.
Hopefully Tidal will find some means of marking/naming the MQA versions of the albums so we with Bluesound or other 'Tidal partner' equipment can easily know the difference.

Another update (OP here):
After I spent quite a bit of time yesterday listening to my new system, I realized some of my music (not all) needed some more 'punches '. As such, went ahead and ordered the SVS sub below:
https://www.amazon.com/SVS-SB12-NSD-...s=svs+sb12-nsd
I realize it is the previous generation, but cannot beat the price (half of the current gen SB-2000). I know it lesser design and 100 watts less than current 12' sealed gen.
I was very close of getting the ELAC sub below:
https://www.amazon.com/S10EQ-Powered...elac+subwoofer
Am I making a big mistake? I still have time to cancel.

Stick with what you ordered. It's $100 cheaper and there isn't $100 difference unless you place a high value on Bluetooth control of it. Myself, I adjust my sub at setup and rarely (if ever) touch it. Not a mistake at all. The SVS sub will be great for your 2-channel setup...and the price is right.

That will be a nice addition to the system! Sure, the SB-2000 digs a bit deeper but the SB12-NSD is no slouch. Try it. Awesome!

Thanks for chiming in guys, much appreciated.
It sounds like SB12 is a keeper. I should get it by Wednesday, and will have a chance to hook it up and 'play' with it over the next weekend.
For those with a two-channel (rather 2.1 system) setup, do you guys connect the subwoofers via LFE connections (bypassing sub's crossovers, and utilizing receiver's crossovers putting the speakers as 'small'), or level / high pass? I am thinking using LFE initially, setting speakers as small on Rotel with a crossover of 60 HZ.
